TROWBRIDGE Town boss Paul Blake has his sights set firmly on enjoying his first home game in charge tomorrow after seeing his side slip to a disappointing defeat at Malmesbury Victoria on Tuesday evening.

Mark Field netted a hat-trick for the home side, with Max Sparrow and an own goal rounding off the scoring for the victorious Vics.

Bobby Hunt put past his own keeper for Trowbridge’s consolation goal but Blake is keen to concentrate on this weekend’s clash with Carterton.

“We knew they had some quality players and they looked a lot fitter than us and were getting to every 50/50 first,” he said.

“Maybe it was because they’d played on Saturday but the scoreline did flatter them a bit in the end, especailly with our second-half performance.

“It’s a disappointing result but I’m really just looking forward to the first home game now.”

Trowbridge were due to host Hook Norton last weekend but that clash was postponed as a mark of respect after the death of Norton player Jay Wills the previous week.

The teenager was killed in a car crash in Oxfordshire.

Blake added: “I think it was definitely the right decision and the right thing to do.”

Striker William Birch could be involved against Carterton tomorrow after joining from Corsham Town.

Blake revealed that he has also made approaches for two defensive players.
