CAPTAIN Joe Breet excelled once again as Westbury saw off Taunton by eight runs on Saturday Breet added superb bowling figures of 4-36 from 10 overs to a rampant 84 with the bat to play the key role in Westbury’s win.
Batting first, Westbury started well with Simon Rose (29) and William Bagshawe (43) laying the foundations for Breet’s assault.
Assisted by David Wade, who struck a six and three fours in his 32, Breet helped Westbury to 242-9.
In reply, Tom Abell kept the visitors in with a shout, spanking 80 from 96 balls and enjoying support from Alisdair Easton (32) and Craig Williams (23).
But Breet kept the element of control for Westbury in the middle overs, and when Rose pitched in with three wickets towards the end of the innings to stifle any late charge, Westbury had victory in the bag.
