JASON Guy saluted his side’s display despite their 1-0 Wessex League Cup exit at the hands of Premier Division opponents Christchurch on Tuesday.

“It was a really good team display,’’ insisted the Red and Blacks chief.

“We were a bit slow in the first 15 minutes, but after that I thought we gave them a really good game.

“It was a big ask for the players and Christchurch created a lot of chances towards the end.

“It could have ended up being two or three, but we managed to keep it to one so overall I’m happy with the performance.”

Warminster, who take on Wiltshire League Wroughton in the Wiltshire Senior Cup tomorrow, claimed their first win in four matches at Fleet Spurs on Saturday.

James Vincent and Jason Guy combined to set up Louis Sparey who gave Town the lead in the second half.

Vincent powered home a header for the second and Simon Reaney rounded the keeper before adding the third. Kieran Arscot fired home a consolation.
