TROWBRIDGE pilot Paula Walker has started the new bobsleigh campaign in style, after winning gold in the first race of the America's Cup series in Utah.
Junior world champion and Great Britain number one Walker saw off a number of Olympic medallists on her way to victory in Park City as she and brakewoman Rebekah Wilson beat Canada's Helen Upperton and Heather Hughes.
The25-year-old, who lives in Paxcroft Mead, and Wilson were second fastest in the first run in 50.55secs, 100th of a second slower than the Canadians before a run of 50.49 gave them victory.
The second America's Cup race was due later today with the World Cup campaign beginning next month.
