TROWBRIDGE finished their league season in style with a well-worked win over Sherborne to give departing head coach Alex Hill the perfect send-off.

Hill is leaving the area after 10 years with the club and saw his side avenge the heavy defeat they suffered on the first day of the campaign.

The visitors took the lead on 20 minutes when a period of pressure ended with winger Rob Morton going over wide out for an unconverted try.

Trowbridge gradually came back into the game and stared to put some moves of their own together which resulted in prop Sam Edwards scoring their first try to leave the score tied at half time.

The Trowbridge pack started to get on top in the second half and it was the turn of the visitors to defend for all their worth.

The pressure told when centre Nicky Little crashed over after some good attacking play from the home team.

The try was converted by Kyle Knight and, after a long range penalty attempt by Lloyd Davis hit the bar, the ball was recycled and shipped out to winger Ashley Chalk to score wide out giving Trowbridge a 17-5 lead.

Sherborne hit back with an unconverted try of their own from the outstanding back row Nick Emlage.

However Trowbridge continued the pressure and scored their bonus point try from Justin Reid, converted by replacement Alex Hill who was playing his last game for the club, who is stepping down as head coach.

Sherborne had the last say, scoring under the posts from fly-half Seb Lear who converted the try himself as Trowbridge gave 18 year old replacement Gareth Davis his first team debut coming on with 10 minutes to go.
