On the last Saturday of October, Warminster usually holds their annual carnival, filled with dazzling lights and lively music, and this year was no exception. Leaving Boreham Road at 6:45 p.m., a plethora of illuminated floats, majorette groups, and bands made their way through the town of Warminster before finishing their route on Church Street at around 8:30 p.m. With entertainment for people of all ages, this was a guaranteed wonderful evening for everyone. This included people dressed up as iconic characters such as Paddington Bear and Santa Claus.

The community was encouraged to join in ranging from singing along to the magical floats and majorettes to being a part of said groups. Additionally, the annual ‘Fun Day in the Park’ was held to choose the carnival prince and princess, who take part in the ride through town, as well as more entertainment to further raise money for this event. This usually included a dog show, a baby competition, and other activities to participate in; however, due to the extreme heat, the dog show was cancelled. The Warminster Carnival Committee also held other fundraisers such as darts, bingo, and pairs skittles competitions. Furthermore, the carnival gives local charities and organisations a chance to collect some extra money by taking part in the event and collecting money throughout the route.

In addition to the carnival, the John Jennings Fun Fair came to town in the central car park. The fun fair usually comes to Warminster and surrounding towns twice a year, with rides for all ages, like the Waltzers to the Teacups and, of course, the infamous Dodgems. As it was only in town for two nights, the fairground appealed to a lot of people, especially after the carnival had ended. The attraction was also home to many game stalls where people could win a range of toys and stuffed animals.
