Monkton Farleigh Knit & Natter
THE group have made three large blankets and a quantity of warm hats to send to Syrian refugees in Greece, via Knit Aid.
"We have so much and they have nothing," is the view of all the knitters who intend to continue making gifts for the refugees throughout the year. Knit Aid regularly sends consignments of knitted gifts to refugees. Anyone can contribute, either through the Monkton Farleigh group or direct to Knit Aid www.knitaid.org
The Monkton Farleigh group meets every Wednesday morning in term time from 10-12 noon in the village hall. All knitters and handcrafters are welcome, whether beginners or experts. There's lots of chat, help with difficult patterns and very good coffee - all for £1.50 a week.
