A COUPLE from Trowbridge will be sharing Harry and Meghan’s big day when they renew their vows at Wesley Road Methodist Church.

Maria, 53, and Kevin, 60, Trueman, of Brewery Walk, will be having their own celebrations as they renew their vows in the same church they were married in 25 years ago.

Mrs Trueman said: “We didn’t have much money when we got married, we had most of our things donated to us from friends and family, so this is our chance to have a proper wedding.

“We actually booked our ceremony way before Harry and Meghan did, and it was our date first!

“We have joked and said that we will share our special day because we can’t be at their wedding and they can’t be at ours, so we will share our celebrations.

“Our ceremony starts at 2pm so we will be able to watch some of the Royal wedding.

“We will certainly have it on while we are all getting ready and having our hair done.

“I am so excited for our day and it is lovely to be sharing it with the royal couple.”

The head chef was brought up in Trowbridge while her husband, a driver with FirstBus, originally lived in Melksham.

Saturday’s ceremony will feature bridesmaids and groomsmen and a beautiful wedding dress.

Mrs Trueman continued: “I’m very esxcited about the dress: will have a proper wedding dress this time which I am very excited about.mmy original wedding dress was made by my mum as we couldn’t afford to buy one back then.

“We aren’t really party people so we didn’t want a party to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, so we thought renewing our vows was the perfect celebration.”

The couple’s family, children Louise, Craig and Charlie and grandchildren Mia and Cameron will be sharing the big day.
