Wiltshire Police are appealing for information following the sexual assault of a woman in Station Road, Warminster, on Wednesday.
At about 8.30pm a woman in her 40s, wearing a grey and white striped top, dark skirt and carrying a white bag was walking along Station Road, towards the railway station and close to the area of the sorting office.
She was grabbed and sexually assaulted by an unknown male.
A police spokesman said: "It is understood that the town centre was still busy at that time.
"We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at that time and can recall seeing a woman matching the description above with a male.
"Please contact Wiltshire Police on 101, asking for Salisbury CID. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details may be left anonymously if preferred."
